This is a hands-on course designed to familiarize members with many of the commercial locksets encountered on jobsites. Lock types, lock grades, application, and handing are addressed. The course progresses to removing, re-pinning, and understanding standard pin tumbler cylinders. Members are introduced to basic key duplicating and lock maintenance. Installation problems and solutions for members encountering lock problems are discussed.
Tools and/or supplies needed: Pen/pencils, notepad, highlighter, clear safety glasses, 4-in-1 combination screwdriver (#1 and #2 Phillips and straight).
