WELDING - H-PILE MECHANICAL SPLICE
Course Description
Team of 2 welders will take 14" wide flanged beam 4' long, torch in half in upright position. Install 16" mechanical splice then welding 2 overheads and 4 vertical ups with 5/32" 7018 electrodes. Torch cut the other 2' piece of beam ('Topper') in 45 degree. Install Topper into splice, with aid of fork truck. Applying 2 flat/horizontal welds and four vertical ups.
Special Instructions
Tools and/or supplies needed: Safety glasses, welding gloves (available for purchase at the Training Center), work boots, tape measure, speed square and/or torpedo lelel, 2' level, pen/pencil, notebook and highlighter.
