The Chicago Laborers’ District Council is proud to support Operation Hep-a-Hero
There are hundreds of homeless veterans in Chicago. The City of Chicago is working hard to create a system where any episode of homelessness is rare and brief through the End Veterans Homelessness Initiative (EVHI). As we house these veterans, the transition from shelter or transitional housing to permanent housing, means many veterans do not have basic items to set up a home. Mayor Lightfoot, the City Council, and Jewel-Osco are joining together in the month of June to help homeless veterans in Chicago by creating move-in kits.
Only new, store bought items will be accepted
Please drop off new household items at your Alderman’s Office, local Jewel-Osco or participating Chicago Parks District location by June 30th.
